The Council of North County Neighborhood’s (CNCN) goal in sponsoring this contest is to encourage kids who live in the East Lake area to say in their own words what they like about living in East Lake.

Many families are now “staying put” as the days of house-hopping have cooled for a while. While many of us living here in East Lake moved here from somewhere else, we’re all making East Lake our home.

Most adults have their own favorite warm-and-fuzzy memories of “home” when they were young. We all reminisce about the neighborhoods where we grew; a place we will always remember as our “home”. Our kids are shaping these memories right now and this essay contest is all about capturing what kids like about living in the East Lake area.

Who is eligible:
All students living in the East Lake area in grades: 11-12, 9-10, 5-8, and 3-5.

Essay Contest Dates:
Contest begins: April 20th, 2010

Entries submitted by: May 15th, 2010
Essay Contest Results: May 17th, 2010
